About

Mr Pantelis Ioannidis is a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust, with a wide range of experience in general ophthalmology, who specializes in cataract surgery, ocular surface disease and dry eye. 

 

He completed his ophthalmology training in Athens, Greece, working at the University Paediatric Hospital and at the prestigious Red Cross Hospital of Athens, following graduation from Medical School in Cagliari, Italy. Since 2012 he has been living in the UK, working in Singleton hospital in Swansea and in 2013 he joined the Ophthalmology department in East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust. In 2015 he did an Honorary Clinical attachment in the Corneal clinic in Queen Victoria Hospital in East Grinstead.  From 2018 he is the Clinical Governance Lead in Ophthalmology and responsible for the Primary Care Provision in East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust.

 

He is a Member of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists and a Fellow of the European Board of Ophthalmologists. 

 

His clinical interests include small incision cataract surgery, complex cataract surgery with premium lenses, dry eye disease, blepharitis, Meibomian gland dysfunction and retinal disorders.
